NoodleTools: Getting Started

An online research management tool

Creating a New Project

1. Go to the Library Homepage and select either NoodleTools (Students) or NoodleTools (Faculty), If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your CWID. Then either Register for a new account or login by clicking on Sign In. Next, click on New Project.

2. When prompted, enter your project name, citation style, and citation level. Keep this information in mind while choosing:

  • When naming your project, use the name of your class and assignment to help avoid confusion later.
  • Choose your citation style. MLA or APA are the most popular.
  • If you decide to change your citation style later, NoodleTools will create a new project and make the old one a backup copy. Note that the backup copy will not be automatically updated when you make changes to the new project!
  • Select Advanced under Citation level to get the most options.
  • Once you have filled out all of this information, click on Submit.

3. Click the project name to begin adding sources. From the Dashboard, click on the New Source button at the top of the page and then click on Create new citation to start your bibliography.
