This guide describes library resources and services designed to support Foothill College faculty.

Request a Book

We value your input on the purchase of library materials! Please email your recommendations to the librarian liaison for your department/division.

All print and non-print materials (with the exception of required textbooks, desk copies, tests, multiple copies of workbooks not required for student purchase, and music scores) are ordered through the librarians and processed by the library. Any faculty, students and staff of Foothill College may suggest materials.

For required textbooks, desk copies, tests, multiple copies of workbooks not required for student purchase, please see the Reserves tab above or contact the Circulation Desk at 650.949.7611 or fhlibrary@fhda.edu

Materials Selection Policy

According to Board Policy 6170, "It is the joint responsibility of the library and teaching faculty to select materials that will best meet the teaching and learning mission of the Colleges. As subject experts, the teaching faculty are responsible for the selection of print and non-print materials in their subject areas. In addition, they are encouraged to suggest materials for the development of the entire collection."
